Out of nowhere I found myself stuck in front of the tv and suddenly wondering about Damien Echols. I haven't thought about him and his plight since I saw, "Paradise Lost" a few years ago. I flipped over to Court TV and BLAMMO, an interview from Damien on death row. Next day, I was speaking to a friend of mine and couldn't wait to tell him. He said, strangely enough, that he had thought of the same thing, right out of the blue, that very day. I asked him, "What's THAT about?" He said, "The veil must be thinner." I whispered, "Veil? What veil?" He said, "Halloween's coming, the veil between us and the spirit world."

In 1993 Damien Echols, Charles Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, Jr. were convicted of murdering three, eight year old boys: Chris Byers, Michael Moore and Stevie Branch. They were convicted despite lack of motive and evidence. They were convicted because I guess it was high time for another witch hunt. The victim's bodies were found horrifically defiled and mutilated in a creek. This happened in West Memphis, Arkansas. The town freaked out (rightly so) and demanded action. Well lookey what we got here? Three, count 'em THREE pinko, sicko, weirdo, freak boys! And look! One of them wears black and listens to that devil band Metallica and even practices Witchcraft! I imagine the local authorities rubbing their proverbial hands together and speaking in tongues when they pulled the charge (using the three innocent boys as Satanic Ritual Fodder) right out of their collective asses. DEATH BY SATAN!

"Paradise Lost", a 1994 documentary, takes us through the story and the trial of the Robin Hood Hill's Murders. If you haven't seen this film, I advise you to rent it at your local video store. What fascinated me was my first look at and feel for John Byers (the step-father of Chris Byers). I looked into his eyes on the screen and I saw a soul-sucking, vacuous, black-as-pitch nothing. A stealth ice-pick tore ass down my spine and those eyes sucked the living breath right out of me. That was my first impression and it's even stronger today.

Brent E. Turvey, a forensic scientist and criminal profiler recently prepared a forensic analysis and psychological profile that found:

• The location of the bodies is only one of four crime scenes involved in the case. The boys were not murdered at the location where they were found. Three additional crime scenes were involved: where the boys were abducted, where the murders happened, and in the vehicle used to transport the bodies.
• This crime does not present at all as a satanic ritual, or cult related, homicide.
• There are wounds on Steve Branch's face that appear to have been caused by biting. The investigators apparently missed them.
