Meet Corky & Violet. Gina Gershon plays Corky, a hardcore lesbian trying to put her life back together after 5 years in jail. Jennifer Tilly is Violet, a glamorous mystery involved with a mobster named Ceasar. When they bump into each other in an elevator, you can almost see the wallpaper peeling from the heat. The film smolders along into what seems to be porn and then slams you into a rollercoaster ride reminiscent of "The Usual Suspects." I loved not being able to figure out what happens next. Joe Pantoliano is awesome as Ceasar. He must have slept for a month straight after this film wrapped. Fair warning, there are some torture scenes that will frighten the weak but know that we're never explicitly exposed to the carnage. The Wachowsky brothers are masters of artistry. The transitions between scenes are original and breathtaking and the cinematography as a whole is a pleasure to the eyes. A scene involving white paint is just one of many visual banquets. One scene made me break the redial button on every phone in my house. I really wish there was a sequel to this film. Quotes & Stuff Violet: Oh, I'm not apologizing for what I did do. I'm apologizing for what I didn't do. Corky: For me, stealing's always been a lot like sex. Two people who want the same thing: they get in a room, they talk about it. They start to plan. It's kind of like flirting. It's kind of like... foreplay, 'cause the more they talk about it, the wetter they get. The only difference is, I can fuck someone I've just met. But to steal? I need to know someone like I know myself. Ceasar: What did she do to you? Ceasar: Put it in his mouth! |

GOD I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Bound is like watching a comedy, gangster & sex film all mashed up together. Larry & Andy Wachowski (both still in their 20s) kick ass with this edge of your seat action/adventure. The character development is astonishing. I care about what happens to everyone in this movie.
